watch 16 year old Hollywood actress AMANDLA STENBERG tackle the complex subject of MIS-APPROPRIATING CULTURE in under 5 minutes.

Well done Amandla! The more people of African descent disassociate ourselves from our history and knowledge of our past, the stronger [and deadlier] white supremacy (racism) becomes. Let’s break the cycle once and for all!!

At the end of the clip, Amandla asks a very important question: What would America be like if we loved black people as much as we love black culture? Without us and our contributions to world civilization, whites would not be as “great” or “superior” as they think they are! Always remember that and never let them forget!

MYKAL KILGORE!!!

For all of my readers in Europe, I want you to check out my incredibly talented & gifted friend, singer/songwriter Mykal Kilgore!! He is currently on a 36 date tour in Europe with the group Postmodern Juxebox. The first time I heard Mykal sing was in late 2010. A friend of mine from out of state told me that his friend was having a showcase in NYC and that I should check him out. I didn’t know what to expect, nor did I have any expectations. I’m glad I went because Mykal completely BLEW me away!! Here are a few clips from that show:

“The Rhythm Is Off The Wall”

“Just Had To Hear Your Voice”

“Aquarius”

Do you see why I was blown away? Lol. Since that night, he’s performed on a number of Broadway shows, including Hair and Motown. Now, he is singing his heart out across Europe and will soon start working on his debut album!

Tonight, he and PMJ will be performing in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The tour ends in Vienna, Austria on March 20th. All the dates for the tour are listed below. Check them out!

D’Angelo — “Betray My Heart”

One of my other favorite songs off of D’Angelo’s new album Black Messiah is “Really Love.” I heard the demo a couple years ago and I love the final version. The album’s closer “Another Life” is also amazing! Now, it’s time for Lauryn to feed our souls and bless us with her second studio album!! She just killed her set in Ghana a few days ago and her voice sounded good! It took D 14 years to release his new album and Lauryn is approaching 13. A fan can only wish right? Lol.

welcome back!! Jazmine returns to the stage with SOLD OUT show in LONDON after nearly 4 year absence from music!

Wish I could’ve been there….instead…I’m stuck writing this damn Motion. 😦 The comments from twitter have been incredible. New music coming soon!!
