Ira Katznelson Discusses ‘When Affirmative Action Was White.’

The Institute for Research in African-American Studies held a symposium to discuss Professor Ira Katznelson’s book When Affirmative Action Was White: An Untold History of Racial Inequality in Twentieth Century America, published by W. W. Norton and Company. The author argues that modern racial inequality in America grew from government policies enacted during the 1930s and 1940s intended to impede the socioeconomic progression of African-Americans.

Members of the second panel discussed the modern public policy effects of affirmative action. Farah Griffin moderated the discussion. Following the panel, participants responded to questions from members of the audience.

I read Ira’s excellent book a couple years ago and I would recommend it to anyone seeking to understanding global white/”Jewish” supremacy (racism). It was very eye opening to read how the U.S. government — through the Fair and New Deal, as well as other laws — essentially created the white, middle class (which in 2014, is now disappearing). This informative book helps support the fact that you will never truly understand the present, unless you have an understanding of the past — and not the version of “his-tory” we are programmed to learn via our nation’s subpar educational system.
