“They manipulate our history books. The history books are not true, it’s a lie. The history books are lying, you need to know that. You must know that.” — Michael Jackson

“Today Africa is recognized as the very cradle of the human race.”

If the National Geographic knows this to be true, why are those in power who have the responsibility of determining what is taught in our Western educational system, still refusing to teach the truth about Africa being the birthplace of humanity and civilization? The answer is simple: to maintain the myth of white racial superiority. It’s the same reason why Jesus is still being portrayed as white and having European features…How much different would society be if our realities were shaped by truth and not lies?

“In general, European scholarship has been leading in the creation of the [white supremacist] belief system. In fact, I think it would be safe to say that without the scholars, there would’ve been no racism because they helped to create the belief system with authenticity. If a professor of biology says that Africans are inferior, if a professor of theology says it, it’s different than having a man on the street say it. [I]n tracing the history of racism, we don’t have to speculate about this. There are many good books on the history of racism led by scholars in academic institutions. A good example would be the book by Allan Chase called The Legacy of Malthus and there are many others [such as] The Leopard Spots by [William] Stanton. There are many books that studies the seminal role that scholars have played in creating these [negative] images of Africans.”
