““Protector of the Gods” is an epic and magical story that we have yet to see envisioned nor attempted by a Hollywood studio. I am honored and excited to be co-executive producer of this amazing film and help bring it to audiences across the globe. Kameko’s storytelling takes you through the larger than life history of ancient Egypt from a distinctly African perspective. I think it is essential that moviegoers understand and watch historically accurate depictions of African history, from more than simply a slave narrative. Now more than ever, audiences are hungry for stories such as these told without bias. I am excited to be a part of bringing it to millions around the world!” -– Hill Harper
“While U.S. citizens could once claim to be part of the 9% of people in the world governed by a ‘full democracy,’ they are now part of the near 45% who live in a ‘flawed democracy.’ That’s according to the Economist Intelligence Unit, which downgraded the U.S. in their 2016 Democracy Index published Wednesday. The move puts the U.S. in the same category as Poland, Mongolia, and Italy. To arrive at this conclusion, the paper analyzed over 200 countries and considered factors like political culture and political participation. ‘Popular trust in government, elected representatives and political parties has fallen to extremely low levels in the U.S.,’ the paper’s authors wrote. ‘This has been a long-term trend and one that preceded the election of [Donald] Trump as U.S. president in November 2016.’”

“It is necessary for us to develop a new frame of reference which transcends the limits of white concepts. It is necessary for us to develop and maintain a total intellectual offensive against the false universality of white concepts, whether they are expressed by William Styron or Daniel Patrick Moynihan. By and large, reality has been conceptualized in terms of the narrow point of view of the small minority of white men who live Europe and North America. We must abandon the partial frame of reference of our oppressors and create new concepts which will release our reality, which is the reality of the overwhelming majority of men and women on this globe. We must say to the white world that there are things in the world that are not dreamt of in your history and your sociology and your philosophy.”
