“Last year brought only modest increases in Big Law’s minority numbers, according to The American Lawyer’s latest annual Diversity Scorecard. On average, 15 percent of attorneys working in Am Law 200 and NLJ 250 firms were minorities, while minority representation at individual firms ranged from 34.1 percent to just 3 percent. Recent gains, meanwhile, have mainly come from a slight rise in the number of Hispanic and Asian-American lawyers at the firms, while the numbers of African-American attorneys has remained low.”
