I did a post not too long about about Mignon Clyburn — someone I thought was the chairwoman of the FCC. I was shocked to hear news that an African American was in charge, but now everything makes sense. Clyburn was acting as the interim chairperson while the real chairman was finally confirmed by Congress. So, now, President Obama’s nominee has officially been confirmed. His name is Tom Wheeler. The article I read described him as a former “cable and mobile phone industry lobbyist,” so I doubt he gives a damn about the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or diversity.
